we all know the benefits of good nutrition on how you look in the mirror and how your body performs

but

not many people know how good nutrition can affect brain performance and chemistry !!

A toxic body doesnt perform well and this is even more important for the brain !

An inflamed and erratic brain doesnt help anxiety, clear thinking, decision making, stress and various other issues which are extremely common

.

What can we do to help our brain ?

First step, drink more water !!, the brain needs water to function well and a dehydrated state wont help, aim for at least 2 litres per day to keep it simple !

Fuel on fat !, the brain needs good fats to function optimally and reduce inflammation. Fish oils that are higher in DHA than epa is a wonderful supplement from brain power and reducing inflammation and a great fuel source for the brain. Also in small quantities, avocado, butter, coconut oil alongside fish oils are good fats to consume each day.

Reduce sugar, unless its in the small amount of fruit you eat each day do your best to reduce sugar consumption

Eat more natural protein foods & veggies – give your body the foods it needs for vitamins, minerals, fibre and protein to balance energy levels

.

Try turmeric – an really powerful anti inflammatory agent that has a whole host of benefits

.

Sleep – good 8 hrs per night in a dark room going to bed at the same time each night works wonders for a high performance brain
