Should you Weigh Yourself ?

Ive always said if you love how you look in the mirror and in your clothes then weighing yourself isnt essential……

.

and… i still stand by that point ….

.

however

.

if you want real clarity as you progress i think a weekly check in can provide some good feedback.

.

For example

.

if your trying to maintain a calorie deficit and keep your strength up lifting 4 days a week ( hope you are ) weighing yourself tells you along with skinfolds how you are progressing. If the weight is staying the same but the skinfolds are decreasing and the strength is the same or increasing you have increased lean tissue and dropped bodyfat…. hallelujah

Weighing yourself if done for the right reasons in the right context is fine and another good metric of keeping score

ps you do not need to weight yourself every damn day !!!

pick a time each week and stick to it and remember especially in ladies there will be times each month due to water retention where the weight may sky rocket…… DONT PANIC by the week after it will be back on track

ALSO we are looking for slow consistent weight loss if that you are trying to lose, any more than 1 pound a week ( unless seriously overweight ) isnt fat loss !!. It most certainly will be water loss and maybe muscle loss too which we absolutely do not want !!!

REMEMBER 1/2 TO 1 POUND PER WEEK, NO MORE !!
